Welcome to our gallery. We are a family of Inuit who make and sell our original art work. We create drawings, paintings, photographs, soapstone carvings, as well as real and miniature ulus. We also make ivory, antler, bone, wood, metal, skin, fur, beaded, and composite jewelery and miniature models of our clothing and tools. Our work is inspired by our ancestors. All our profits goes to support the Arctic Children's and Youth Foundation, as well as other causes (see under our links section).
We are doing other work to help Canadians with environmental toxicities, mulitple chemical and food sensitivities; and to help the children of Nunavut access uncontaminated, healthy food (click on donations at the top).
On a lighter note, we also help people with problems with their Dreadlocks. See Heyzorgzilla on youtube.
As promised, we are holding an art competition to celebrate Zakara's 23nd birthday, on June 18, 2014. We are now accepting 8.5 by 11.5 pencil drawings--the easiest to do, and submit-- by Canadian's aboriginal children and young people to age 30 years. There will be a cash prize of $100.00 or more, as well as a display of your work on this website, and one of Zakara's prints, autographed by her sister, Zorga (aka Qajaaq) of HeyZorgzilla on youtube. Please submit your drawings to Piujuq Inuit Art Studios, P.O. Box 41069, 1910 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 5K9. For those of you who know where our house is, you can drop your drawings off at the house. If you are at Larga in Ottawa, call us at 613-736-7285, and we will come pick up your drawing. The competition closes on Zakara's birthday, and we will pick the winner, or winners soon after. If any body would like also to sponsor prizes they can contact us.
We do artwork on commission if asked. You can email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can contact us here.
